KILLRUN was born from the studios burning desire to create a polished fast paced and skill based competitive first person shooter after tasting success with Battalion 1944. Originally a multiplayer prototype named PROMOD (a not so subtle nod to the Modern Warfare community mod that inspired it) the team wanted to make a shooter with a high skill ceiling and creative opportunities.

The core BULKHEAD team loved the multiplayer PROMOD project. However, whilst developing the game the idea for a more ambitious and wider reaching project, WARDOGS, came to life. Not wanting to abandon the work and passion put into the PROMOD base game feel, movement and design work – the team repurposed the game’s training mode ‘KILLRUN’ as a standalone single player title to share a small part of that gold dust with speedrunners and quake based movement lovers.
